A new site was launched this week looking at the investment potential of Bordaux wines (good luck to them launching this week with the stock market crashes).
The web address is:
www.statwine.com/
And after looking round the site this morning, it looks like a provides a very well researched, comprehensive database. Each chateau has a fact sheet that looks at the key personnel and contacts, plus the place of the chateau within the appellation, the plantations in the vineyard (% of different grape varieties), statistics and analysis, commentary on how they are progressing, ageing potential and tasting notes.
Each chateau is then given a quality scored, taking into account parameters such as the overall quality (score) and the wine's regularity over the years (standard deviation). In their model, the score counts for 70% and regularity 30%.
The information is not free, but it sounds like an interesting addition to current investment information.

Maybe it is rather the time for the miracle Wine Ager that has come

Perhaps it will put fear in the wine investors' minds...
